  • Objective

    Create a visually compelling and engaging paid social video ad using the elements provided.

  • The ask

    Create (1) high-energy video paid social ad (5-15s) that could run on Meta (Reels/Stories), and will be targeted to young spirit drinkers (24-35yo) in the U.S. The concept is up to you, but the goal of the ad will be to drive product sales through 3rd party retailers (Drizly, Reserve Bar, etc).

  • Deliverable

     Submit the final video file in a quick deck (can be 1-3 slides), presenting the work and providing context/rationale for creative approach and decisions made.

  • Concept

    The target demographic has shown they are more drawn to organic visuals compared to fine-tuned, corporate-like aesthetics. As this is an ad (and not a social post), my goal was to feature a high-energy lifestyle while incorporating product footage. The ad was created with the mindset to not only work for Meta Reels and Stories, but for Meta feed posts (1:1 aspect ratio) and Instagram post ads as well. The video starts with Cuervo Tradicional’s baseline tagline “SET THE NIGHT IN MOTION” in Manrope font and aims to convey that feeling in a 15-second video clip.

  • Thought Process

    Brainstormed different ideas including shooting product or asking a videographer friend to create footage to use for the ad. For the sake of this exercise, I decided to use existing footage from Cuervo Tradicional’s Instagram account to showcase my resourcefulness and ability to take the client’s existing assets to create a new ad. With editing, cutting, and some visual treatment, the ad was completed without incurring any cost and additional resources.
